your private tour begins with luxury hotel pickup via Lexus or Alphard.
12:00 Enjoy a Wasabi Farm Tour
The representative director of the Japan Wasabi Association will guide you through the wasabi fields in Okutama.
Delve into Okutama's centuries-old tradition of cultivating wasabi — an essential taste of Japan and a prized regional specialty since the Edo era.
Okutama's wasabi fields sit high in the mountains, with most accessible only by foot along rugged trails or by monorail. Through special arrangements with local cultivators, we can now visit a field accessible by car.
To protect these delicate plants, visitor numbers are limited and strict pest prevention measures are in place during all tours and experiences.
( Lunch time ) 13:10 Lunch
Lunch will feature soba noodles and other Japanese cuisine options. Please enjoy them with fresh Okutama wasabi.
14:30 Tour Ozawa Shuzo (Sake Brewery)
Experience an exclusive private sake brewery tour and sake tasting guided personally by Mikio Ozawa, 23rd-generation proprietor of the esteemed Ozawa Sake Brewery.
Though sake brewery tours have become more common in recent years, it remains exceptionally rare to be guided by the brewery owner himself. This presents an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with a master of the craft.
The Ozawa family's history stretches back over 300 years, with records of sake brewing dating to 1702 during the Edo period.
Immerse yourself in the proprietor's dedication to sake brewing and explore the profound artistry of Japanese sake.
*Tours may occasionally be conducted by Chairman Junichiro Ozawa, 22nd-generation head of the family.
